Day 1 Hanoi to Lao Cai per Livitrans Train
You will be transferred from your Hanoi hotel to the railway station. Overnight on board the Livitrans Train (4 berth compartment) to Lao Cai. The train departs at 9.40pm
Topas Eco Lodge is located deep in the peaceful and picturesque Sapa Valley about 1 hour from the town of Sapa. The lodge offers the perfect relaxing break amidst the most peaceful and beautiful scenery that Sapa has to offer. The Topas Eco Lodge consists of 25 individual lodges placed in a circle around the hills. From each lodge there are breathtaking views across the scenic valleys below, which are home to villages of the Tay and Red Dao minorities. In these perfect surroundings you can choose the quiet life of the lodge or more active pursuits such as trekking or mountain biking in the area to visit local hill-tribes.
Day 2 Arrive Lao Cai
Arrive Lao Cai at 4.45am. On arrival you will be transferred by Topas Eco Lodge shuttle bus to Topas Eco Lodge. The rest of the day is at leisure, however, numerous walks, treks and mountain biking can be arranged through Topas Eco Lodge.
With endless trails ahead of you, trekking and exploring the area is an obvious activity to participate in. The Eco Lodge guides will lead tours to local villages and sites of interest. Trekking tours last 6-8 hours and will take you to remote trails and villages with cultural content, wildlife, fauna and flora and not least the minorities of Northern Vietnam. Just behind Topas Eco Lodge you will not fail to see the rough green peak called Peak Silverstone overlooking the complete valley system. The hike up is strenuous but in clear weather the reward is worth it all.
For the more adventurous guests, quality mountain bikes are available. The mountain hills and trails are well suited for biking. But remember - down hill is fun, up hill is tough. Mountain bike tours will be arranged in groups and in two levels. Easy level tours last 2-3 hours and will bring you to local villages where you will learn about local handicraft, agriculture and social systems. Hard level tours last 6-8 hours and will bring you deep into the Hoang Lien valley.
Day 3 In Sapa
Today is at leisure. Later in the evening transfer by Topas Eco Lodge shuttle bus to Lao Cai railway station for the overnight Livitrans Train (4 berth compartment) to Hanoi. The train departs 7.30pm. (B)
Day 4 Arrive Hanoi
Arrive Hanoi at 4.30am. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel
