The Three Gorges: Qutang Xia (Qutang Gorge), is the shortest (5 miles),narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic. Two mountains, Chijia Shan (RedPassage Mountain) and Baiyan Shan (White Salt Mountain), guard the entrance tothis gorge like giant castle doors. Below Wushan is the 25-mile long Wu Xia(Witches Gorge), with cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates theprecipices. This middle gorge is best known for twelve unique peaks. Oftenhidden in swirls of mist, six line the north side of the river and six staggeredpeaks stand to the south. The most famous, Shennu Feng (Goddess Peak),resembles a kneeling maiden. The final gorge, Xiling Xia (Xiling Gorge), is thelongest (41 miles) and the deepest - its cliff walls rise to 4,000 feet.

DAY 1

Evening arrival at Chongking airport and transfer to your selected cruisevessel. Vessel departs approximately 9pm.

DAY 2

Shore excursion to Fengdu, Shibaozhai or Wanzhou (depends upon river conditions and water level). BLD

DAY 3

Sail through the Three Gorges including an excursion by smaller boat to one of the Yangtze Lesser Gorges, Daning or Shennongxi (depends upon river conditions and water level). This evening you will sail through the 3 Gorges dam locks, a thrilling experience under floodlights. BLD

DAY 4

Morning visit to 3 Gorges Dam site. Lunch onboard vessel. Transfer to Yichang airport for onward flight. B
