Day 1 Hanoi – Van Long (Ninh Binh) – Mai Chau
Pick-up at your hotel at 07:00 am then transfer in about 120km on a good road to Ninh Binh, the land known as the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th Century with more historic relics, birth of 6 kings of the Dinh – Le – Ly dynasties, we arrive at Dinh & Le Temple which Dinh Temple worships King Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Temple worships King Le Dai Hanh. These temples were built in 17th century. Enjoy the architecture & sacred ambience of the surroundings covered by stream & mountains… After that, take 20km distance drive to Van Long- nature reserve, here we will take a local boat row, riding along a small stream and the rice paddies through and through some caves of limestone about 1,5 hrs, enjoying spectacular scenery surrounded by rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks. Then we will get a rest at a local restaurant next to Van Long pier to have lunch. After lunch at around 13:30, take 4.5hr driving to Mai Chau, arrive in Mai Chau at around 18:00. Day 2 Full day tour Mai Chau
After breakfast, drive 45min to Salinh village inhabited by the H’mong hill tribe. Feel cool breeze brushing against your face during the 2-hour walk through lush gardens Return to Mai Chau valley for lunch In the afternoon, enjoy as walking through Thai villages of Pom Coong and Lac and see beautiful handicrafts weaved by the local artisans. Afterwards, optional take an excursion to the limestone karst cave attached to the Lodge. A team of local hill tribe people looks after the cave, formerly a military base. Return to hotel to relax. Dinner is accompanied by a traditional dance performance by the local Thai tribe.
Day 3 Half day tour Mai Chau – Hanoi
After breakfast, join a two-hour cycling tour on local bikes or trek through the beautiful valley of Mai Chau. Chat with local hill tribes to learn about their daily lives such as planting rice, herding buffalos and building traditional houses. Lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, return to Hanoi.
